1. Who is the coaching for?
Coaching is open to anyone who not only identifies with a neurodivergent condition but has the motivation and determination to succeed despite any barriers they may face. A willingness to listen and learn and having the courage to be open to new ideas is an important element when embarking on job coaching.
2. Why do I need coaching?
Too many neurodivergent people face unemployment and underemployment due to a lack of understanding, inexperience and bias. With improved communication, increased awareness and some bespoke adaptations, far more of our community can enter and thrive in the workplace.
3. Why the Diverse Minds Group?
Quality, person-centred coaching has the potential to totally upgrade someone’s life. We take both a highly professional and empathic approach to enable people to identify and showcase their strengths, mitigate challenges and secure employment more effectively. We care passionately about the life outcomes for our neurodiverse community and your success is ours too.
4. How many sessions will I need?
Our data shows us that the optimum number of sessions is between four and five, dependent on needs. We recommend only booking a single session at the outset to understand how the coaching works and what your goals will be and continuing from there.
5. How much does it cost?
Each session is 45 minutes and carried out over Zoom. The cost is £80 per session at the standard rate and £60 per session for clients receiving Universal Credit or PIP.
6. How can I book a coaching session with DMG and how many sessions will I need?
You can schedule individual sessions through our online booking form available on our website or by sending us an email and we can guide you through the process.
7. Is it ok to disclose my condition?
Yes. Central to the ethos of The Diverse Minds Group is neurodivergent individuals being open with prospective employers about their needs in an appropriate and professional way.
8. Is it ok to feel lost?
Many neurodivergent people share feelings of being lost and overwhelmed. These feelings are understandable and normal when facing the range of complexities around work. We aim to make our clients feel comfortable, confident and heard and to work together to understand you and break down challenges into manageable pieces.
9. What are reasonable adjustments?
Reasonable adjustments are agreed environmental adaptations to a workplace or educational setting with an objective to help the neurodivergent individual perform better.
10. Are reasonable adjustments important?
Reasonable adjustments can be the difference between success and failure. With effective communication and support, far more Autistic and neurodivergent people can be successful in the workplace.
11. Is the Diverse Minds Group a Recruitment Agency?
No. Our expertise is supporting our clients on your recruitment journey.
12. Can The Diverse Minds Group support me in my current role?
Yes. With the consent of an employer, we can support you if you are already in work. We are also happy to liaise with employers once you have received job offers.
13. Does The Diverse Minds Group offer talks and consultancy?
Yes. If we have capacity, we would be delighted to speak to a school, college, university or employer about the value of our neurodivergent community and how to ensure neurodiversity is embraced, harnessed and valued.
